Great food , service and atmosphere. Family owned and many of the recipes. Coal fired ovens made for great pizzas and apps. Highly recommend The Eggplant Fries. Conveniently located next to The Warner Theater.

Sasso's Pizza in Torrington is a must-try for any pizza lover! Their New Haven-style pies are crispy and delicious, and the atmosphere is lively and fun. I especially recommend the Eggplant Parm pizza - it's a unique and flavorful take on a classic. The cheese pizza is also excellent, with a perfect balance of sauce and cheese. The place was packed when I went, which is always a good sign. There are TVs for watching games, and the Franklin Lounge speakeasy next door is a great spot to grab a drink or make a ressie for dinner Overall, Sasso's is a great place to enjoy some delicious pizza with friends and family.

We had a reservation and we're seated on time. We split a couple apps and pizzas between us and friends. Started with the eggplant fries and the pork belly. Both were well made and delicious, we especially enjoyed the eggplant fries. For pizza we got a fig and goat cheese which was good, if anything there was a little too much goat cheese. The other pie was the lemon buratta. This pie is worth traveling for! It's a must get in my opinion. I had a spicy pineapple margarita and it was to die for. Really good spice! The staff was very friendly and tended to us perfectly. They work hard and work well together.

I was invited by a friend, I knew nothing, I'm not from the area. We got to talking when we were there about the pizza, I eat pizza to fill my belly. I eat Greek thick pizza with lots of toppings, it's a meal. I was persuaded to get a cheese pizza here, not my thing, but I'm willing to try something based on a suggestion. It came out and it had a cheesy aroma, not the usual pizza sensations I'm used to. It's thin, holds up, and crunchy. I was surprised! This was delicious. Not what I expect from pizza, but wow, I can now understand why people can eat great cheese pizza. In all my time, cheese pizza is a base to add more, not the main event. This had a lot of flavor and the crispy toasted edges added to the flavor. I paired it with a coffee stout. I enjoyed it a lot. Give it a try if you were like me and never cared for a cheese pizza.

Food is phenomenal! Best pizza in the northwest corner of CT. Closest to New Haven style without making the trip to New Haven. We will be back. Pepperoni on the pizza is real pepperoni, not the thin cheap stuff. Highly recommend the pepperoni pie.

The artichoke spinach dip was great. The beat salad didn’t have enough beats in it but it was also really good. The Florentine pizza was an A. Must get reservations though or you’ll get a smaller table.

We visited Sasso’s prior to a show at The Warner next door, and have always heard great things from friends who have visited. Luckily we made a reservation, because the place was packed! Nice vibe and friendly service. My one critique is that the food did take a bit longer to come out than I was expecting - our reservation was for 6:15, and we didn’t get our food until nearly 7, and we had to be at the theater for 7:30 latest. I had told our server that we were going to the show, and she was fantastic about getting us boxes and getting our bill paid in a timely manner, so we made it to the show with time to spare. The wings were phenomenal and super garlicky, and we really enjoyed their pizza. Coal-fired, thin crust with just the right amount of char. We’ll be back! If I come before a show next time, I’ll just be sure to move my reservation time up a bit, but overall they handled the volume of the restaurant well!
